About Me

Welcome to my website, and thank you for being here. My name is Samuel Ricks, and here are some things about me:

Where are you from?
I was born in East Orange, New Jersey (U.S.A), and then moved to Liberia, West Africa as a child with my family. After ten years, we moved back to the United States of America to Maryland, and this has been home since then.

What is your greatest gift?
The greatest gifts that God has given me are my three children and the gift of singing. How I started singing is an interesting story. In High School I was placed in a chorus class that I really did not want to be in and discovered that I could actually sing. We signed up for the school’s talent show and won! I am now professionally trained.

What kind of music did you listen to growing up?
I grew up listening to jazz , rhythm & blues, disco, and traditional Gospel back in Monrovia, Liberia.

What makes you happy?
Having Jesus in my life. Cooking for my children and watching them enjoy it. My mother’s cassava leaf.

What gives you hope?
I find hope in believing that one day the songs God has given me will reach the corners of the world. I find hope in seeing Jesus face to face when it’s all said and done.
